History of a frendship between a graduate of the Cracow Academy of Fine art, and an arts manager of the spa in Krynica Marian Wlosinski, and a handicapped, ignorant painter. Based on true events from the life of Epifan Drowniak – a primitive genius-painter known as Nikifor Krynicki.
On 15th of April 1960 Nikifor came to Wlosinski’s workshop and said – "I will paint here". He came for a moment and stayed for life. This film shows three monthes of 1960 and teo days of 1967, when a huge exibition of Nikifor’e works in Zacheta gallery was open. It also shows just one day of 1968 – the day of Nikifor’s death. Film about the spiritual life of an artist, who – thanks to his personal freedom – was able to create great works of art.
