Tomasz J. Opalka
Polish concert and film composer described by British Gramophone as one of new music’s most creative and distinctive voices in a long while. Opalka studied Composition at The Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He has been commissioned by many renowned orchestras, ensembles and soloists. His works include eight instrumental concerti, two symphonies, twelve big scale orchestral works, several chamber and solo pieces, a musical, music for theater and over thirty film scores. He also worked in Los Angeles with top-Hollywood composers, such as Marco Beltrami and Christopher Young. His music has been performed worldwide: in Poland, USA, South Korea, China, Mexico, Brasil, Germany, Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine and Slovakia. His orchestral album titled Emerge released by Warner Classics was nominated to International Classic Music Awards in Best Contemporary Music Album category.
